Pestalozzi students off to university after impressive A Levels results
Students from the Pestalozzi International Village Trust are heading off to 20 universities across the world after achieving impressive A Level results.
This year 22 students sat a total of 75 A-Levels examinations, with a strong focus on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Their achievements were outstanding, with 88% of the results in the grades A*-C range when nationally the number of entries gaining A*-C was 78.4%.
Even more impressively, this year thirteen of the Pestalozzi students achieved 25 A*s and As between them.

The students’ academic achievements have opened the door to opportunities in higher education at some of the most respected educational institutions in the world and most have been awarded fully-funded scholarships.
Junita Sirait, a former student from Indonesia achieved two A*s and two As and is about to start her studies at Wellesley College in Massachusetts USA, a prestigious liberal arts college. Mario Manalu, another former student, achieved one A*, one A and one B and will be continuing his studies at Grinnell College in Iowa.
Other Pestalozzi alumni will be studying at universities in the UK, Canada, Zambia, South Africa and India.
Pestalozzi relies on donations from the public to provide scholarships to young people like Junita and Mario enabling them to complete their secondary education.
Chief Executive Officer, Susan Walton said: “We are immensely proud of our students’ A Level results. They all worked extremely hard throughout the two years and are a real credit to themselves and their communities.”
Pestalozzi is an educational charity which works with young people from the most marginalised communities of Belize, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, as well as Tibetans in exile in India and Nepal.
