Pestalozzi scholars use the skills and knowledge they have gained from their high-quality education to make an amazing difference in the world.
We have dozens of case studies of how Pestalozzi students have gone on to study at top international universities and to embark on challenging careers in fields ranging from science, education, business and NGOs.
This anecdotal evidence helps us explain to our supporters and donors why they should help fund the Pestalozzi scholarships which assist academically high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds.
Fundraising has become increasingly competitive and we need to quantitatively measure our impact so that we have the evidence to demonstrate the difference we do actually make.
We’ve already undertaken an analysis of the data we hold and it is painting a fascinating picture. We know that many of our students continue their studies at university – 73% obtain first degrees, 16% achieve Masters and 3% Phds.
We also know the practical difference our alumni make goes way beyond their academic qualifications and professional achievements. Their desire to make a positive difference continues and they have set up their own schools and charitable foundations; helped people in their own countries and contributed to communities across the world.
We have just marked the 20th anniversary of the start of our scholarship programme, and it seems an appropriate time to enhance the ways we measure our impact.
We are now asking all our alumni to complete a short survey questionnaire to enable us to update and embellish our data. This will enable us to accurately describe the impact of a Pestalozzi scholarship.
