I have been particularly impressed observing boy and girls from diverse backgrounds – children from Jewish and Muslim backgrounds for example – enjoying the opportunity to live and study together in their Pestalozzi community. These villages seemed to be true examples of the oneness of humanity, engaging in appropriate ways of cultivating love and compassion for one another.
I understand that due to changed circumstances, the situation of the Pestalozzi International Village has had to undergo major changes. However, it is wonderful that the Foundation remains committed to offer scholarships to young people in need, from countries around the world.
I firmly believe that in order to bring about a better world, education is the key. I therefore sincerely commend the work of the Pestalozzi International Foundation for its continued support of poor children in need, through your scholarship programme and the Pestalozzi Development Fund.”
